Start of Healing (after Doctor’s Visit)—————————————–>

—————————————————————————>

——————————————————————>9/7/2008

I apologize, I missed about a week in between the second to last photo and the most current photo. It wasn’t a very eventful week though, the area scabbed, and this week it started to peel. There is no pain anymore, and the area is completley scabbed, and there is no oozing of any kind this or last week. The area itches. I cant really tell how faded the tattoo has become, but I’m anxious to see the results. I don’t think the area is going to be a huge scar, its healing up pretty nicely, so we’ll just have see.

    Howdy!

Still following your blog, I thouight you were not going to post anymore. Good too see you are still alive, and that you still have your leg. I am 2 weeks after my first peel. Which I will do my second in 2 more weeks. Anyways, can’t wait to see what it looks like!

    Hey,

I would also be interested in seeing how it heals, I have used TCA, but only light strengths just to test how it reacts.

    What strength did you use?

    -Jason

  3. tinastier Says:

    Jason-
The first application i used around a 56% strength and the second application I used around a 46% application. I did about 6-10 layers each application though, which I would have to say is WAY too many! I would stick to 5 at most.

Andrew- I am glad I still have my leg too! ha. How is yours healing up? Okay I hope. I am going on vacation this week, so i will hopefully have some time to update next week. I may have asked you this already, but what strength did you use, and how many layers of it did you put on?

  5. Andrew Says:

    Hey Tina,

I used a 40% strength on 2 seperate Tattoos. It heals nice, the top layer of screen peeling off is wierd, because it is like a blister. Its think Skin. Odd. I think it did lighten it a bit, but whatever the case. When you posting pics next? My procedure is this

40% which is 1 squirt of (full) of the stuff and a quart squirt of water. Then I apply keeping in most be replying the junk, until 5 minutes pass, then I wipe and put on a another layer and let that dry.

    IS that yours?

  6. Jason Says:

Thanks for responding so quick, I havent gotten to that strength yet because i was curious how my skin would respond so I have only used a 12.5% so far which I knew wouldnt do anything.

I was going to step up to 20% next to build up strength in the skin, but do you think I can just move up to 40% now? I am just being overly cautious i guess.

Hello everyone. I did one application on a tattoo that I have on my chest. I probably wont be doing anymore because the skin is now discolored . Well more like it lacks pigment. I want to see if that changes before I do it again since it is in such an obvious spot. It did not remove any of the tattoo color which they say to expect on the first application. I also did a small spot on a tattoo that I have on my ankle. That healed up a lot nicer that the one on my chest. I guess because the skin is a little tougher there. The one on my chest got all crispy and bubblie but the one on my ankle just got one large blister, dried up and then peeled right off. No pain or anything. I was shocked it actually lost a lot of the tattoo color. Maybe the tattoo color wasnt put in as deep as the one on my chest (???)

  8. Jason Says:

Yea I have a feeling the tattoo location will matter…mine is on my arm, fairly large tattoo so i am nervous about even bothering to try and remove it, but i think the skin is tougher there so i am also less concerned about scarring….also for healing methods, not sure what you are using, but ive researched and found the copper serum and emu oil speed up the healing process….

  9. Andrew Says:

    Hey,

So its been about 13 days. How is yours healing up?

  10. Jason Says:

    Hey,

How is the healing coming along, we haven’t heard from you in awhile? I am planning on doing my first application soon, and was curious how yours is turning out.

    Hope all is well!

Hey, I was just wondering, before you started the Nuviderm removal process, did you get your doctor’s approval first?

  12. I just ordered Nuviderm and it came today. I think I’ll wait a little closer to winter so that I don’t have to worry about showing off my leg in shorts. Does your tatoo seem to be getting any lighter?

I am thinking about trying this. I’ll keep following you for now though.

I came across your blog while I was trying to find some info on nuviderm. I started my first application about a week ago. So far I’ve had no complications except for some minor itching. It ran quite a bit and has turned almost black which is pretty ugly. I started at 24% with no blistering. I was checking out the directions you have and compared them to mine. It seems they changed the strength and the percentage to start at. My tca is a 50% solution in its pure form. They tell you to start at a 17% and work your way up until you find what works best with your skin. The ankle area is a lot thinner skin and you probably want to consider that when deciding on the percentage your going to use. I’m treating a small tattoo on my stomach and one on my back. The tat on my back is affected more than the one on my stomach. If you do try this again you would probably want to bring it down to where you are not blistering and then increase if your not having complications. i look forward to seeing how everything works out for you.

    Hi,

i just came across this blog.. I was looking so see how other peoples tattoos have started to heal.. I just did my first treatment at 25% on angel wings on my back.. about 5×2 inches.. Not to big. However.. As i was reading everyones processes, they all sound similar.. Except instead of peeling off all at one time, mine is peeling off in little batches [for lack of better terms]. I know this isnt a “professionals” blog, but you all would know better than anyone, does this sound normal? I’ll keep checking in.

Thanks for any and all answers!!

    Amber-
Hi. Personally, mine peeled in pieces too, and not just one big piece. Good luck! You should keep me updated on your progress!

  17. Jason Says:

    Hey,

It’s been a few months since you last posted pics, how is the healing coming along? I am only at 20% strength right now, so mine just peels like a bad sunburn, but not surprisingly no real progress since i need to use a higher strength.

Hope you are seeing some progress!

So I have a small (about 1 square inch), black tattoo on my left wrist that I’ve had for about a year. The guy who tattooed me did a terrible job and it’s faded in certain spots and looks really bad. Did this product work for any of you? I’d like to get some feedback before I buy it…Thanks!

  19. Laura Says:

I have been using glycolic 60% and TCA 10%. I noticed a bit of fading. I used a 50% TCA before that scarred my arms, but the scars are now coming off with this new combo. Has anyone on here removed a tattoo completely? I also have tried 3 laser sessions with no results. They are still the same as the day I got them tattooed on.
